A Lion Among Men

Today we come to one of the most famous passages in all the Bible and it is Daniel in the lion’s den. At this time Daniel had been a captive in Babylon for about 70 years and was in his late 80’s. And just when he no doubt thought it was smooth sailing from this point on one of his biggest trials now comes to pass. He had survived being taken captive in Jerusalem by the Babylonian army as a teenager. Then the threat of execution if unable to interpret Nebuchadnezzar’s dream. Then dodging the event in the fire with Shadrach, Meshack, and Abednego. And now facing a night in a lion’s den with starving lions. And yet God was faithful through it all and He always will be for us as well.
